Artwork Guidelines
For all embroidery, silk screen and vinyl printing, the better the quality of the artwork used, the better the print and embroidery outcome will be. It is therefore crucial to start with the highest quality artwork possible. The guide below will set out some pointers for achieving this when uploading your logo images.
ARTWORK FOR PRINTING
File Formats
As part of your FREE print set-up we accept vectorised artwork in the file formats of PDF, CDR (CorelDRAW) or EPS, or print ready formats of JPEG, PSD (Adobe Photoshop), that have a resolution of 300dpi or higher. If you don't have print ready artwork we can convert any logo from a low quality JPEG file or photograph for a one off fee, please see our pricing guide for more information.
If you are unsure if your artwork is suitable for printing get in touch and we will be happy to advise.
Uploading Checklist
If you are supplying vector artwork, please make sure all text fonts are converted to paths ( i.e. outlines or curves). This ensures that the font lettering is changed to a character shape and therefore cannot be changed. If this is not done within the artwork, when we open the file we may not have the same font on our system and the text lettering will therefore not match your artwork.
Pantone colour matching.
Adobe PDF files- to maintain editing capabilities.
Artwork Improvements
When converting your artwork to print we will always consider how to get the most out of your logo in order to maximise its impact on promoting your brand, cause or statement. When providing you with a proof we can help with recommending alternative layouts that would compliment your design.
In the example below the customer supplied artwork that was to be applied as a left chest and large back print. With the design having details too small to be legible when applied as a left chest print, our design team suggested some alternative layouts that remained sympathetic to the overall branding.
ARTWORK FOR EMBROIDERY
File Formats
For embroidery, in order to stitch out your design our embroidery machines need a digitised file of your logo (DST file), therefore all new designs will require to be set up.
We can redraw your logo with our digitising software from any JPEG file or even a photo of the logo from a previous garment or letter head.
For orders of less than 12 items there will be a one-off set up charge. See our pricing guide for more information.
We are here to help!
Some logos are better suited to embroidery than others, our designers can use their knowledge of embroidery to recommend sensible changes to be made if necessary, whilst still respecting the integrity of your branding. For example in the design below we have slightly increased the size of the text within the logo to maximize the quality of the stitching and simplified the colour pallet of the design to ensure a bold finish.
